Trousers, jeans, shorts, jumpsuits, bodysuits, lingerie, and swimwear — all of these things will be easy to create because Sofia has legs.
The cover is made of cotton; it is very durable and low maintenance. Plus, the seams on the cover double as reference construction lines — a beneficial feature for anyone who is draping patterns on the dress form.
Another great thing about Sofia is that you can steam and iron clothes right on it without any restrictions. Pressing garments on the form rather than on a flat surface can level up your sewing and make the results look much more professional.
KEY FEATURES:
✔ 100% COTTON COVER WITH PROFESSIONAL CONSTRUCTION LINES – cover is made from pure cotton fabric in natural color. It can be easily removed (for dry cleaning purposes or replacement for example) and then put back on the mannequin. The cover has professional tailor construction lines and it’s extremely durable.
✔ POLYURETHANE CORE – dress form is made entirely of polyurethane. This makes it ideal for pattern making, draping an pinning technique. Polyurethane is a safe modern poly material also used to produce children’s toys, mattresses, sleeping cushions, etc.
✔ COMPRESSIBLE – the dress form torso is made entirely of soft foam, so you can compress it’s shoulders manually (as demonstrated in listing photo gallery) to put a fitted garment on and narrow it’s waist while trying a laced corset. ABOUT THE DRESS FORM STAND:
For Sofia we offer 2 kinds of stands: wooden and metal.
METAL STAND has a steady, heavy (about 8 kg / 18 lbs) iron cast base. It has wheels with stoppers and rotation retainer included. The pedal is used as a temporary foot brake that keeps the dress form still while you’re working on it. The height of the dress form is adjusted manually by extending or shortening the telescopic stand pole. Metal stand is available in 2 colors: BRIGHT GOLD and MATTE BLACK
WOODEN STAND is a perfect combination of minimalism, functionality and style. It has a steady platform base made of natural (polished and varnished) wood. Like our metal base, it also comes with rotation retainer included. The height of the dress form is adjusted manually by repositioning of rotation retainer on the stand pole. Available in one color.
