metal stand ASSEMBLy manual

The metal stand comes in 10 parts and the set has all the tools required for immediate installation.

Here’s the part list:

  1. Stand base
  2. Wheels
  3. Wrench
  4. Hex tool (larger)
  5. Hex tool (smaller)
  6. Decorative spring
  7. Extendable stand pole
  8. Pole bolt
  9. Pedal
  10. Stopper

10 EASY STEPS TO FOLLOW:

Step 1

Attach the four wheels (2) to the stand base (1). Use the wrench (3) to screw the wheels in. Some wheels have stoppers: use them to securely fix the stand on the floor and prevent it from movement.

Step 2

Twist the hex bolt (8) out of the stand pole (7) completely, using the larger hex tool (4).

Step 3

Put the decorative spring (6) on the stand pole (7).

Step 4

Insert the stand pole with the spring on into the base.

Step 5

Fix the stand pole with the hex bolt (8) and the larger hex tool (4) firmly inside the base. Screw the bolt all the way in and tighten it.

Step 6

Use the smaller hex tool (5) to tighten the black hex screw already installed in the stand base. Tighten it firmly.

Step 7

Take the pedal (9) and place it on the pedal pad already fixed to the stand base. The pedal is used as a temporary foot brake that keeps the dress form still while you’re working on it. Do not press heavily on the pedal as this may damage the pedal pad.

Step 8

Extend the top part of the stand pole by loosening and tightening the stopper (10).

Step 9

Put the rotation retainer (not presented in the stand set initial image) on the stand pole and fix it firmly with the screw knob (already attached to rotation retainer) as shown in the next photo. We recommend extending the upper part of the stand pole by 40-45 cm. This way it will go inside the dress form deeply enough to prevent it from wobbling.

Step 10

Take a moment to praise yourself and enjoy the look of your beautiful new dress form stand! Then put the dress form on the stand (one leg on the extended stand pole, another on the rotation retainer short pole) and start anticipating all the great projects Sofia or Zoe is gonna help you with!

TROUBLESHOOTING

STAND BASE WOBBLES ON THE FLOOR

Make sure all 4 wheels are screwed into the base to the same depth. Unscrew slightly some of the wheels if they sit deeper in the base than others.

STAND POLE WOBBLES

Please make sure the hex bolt (8) and the small black hex screw (preinstalled in the stand base) are duly tightened.

DRESS FORM WOBBLES ON THE STAND POLE

Make sure the upper part of the stand pole is properly extended. Double check instructions in Step 9.

STAND IS TOO HIGH

If you’d like to move the dress form into lower position, but rotation retainer has already reached the bottom pole of the stand – follow the instructions below. IMPORTANT: described method is irreversible.

1. Take the stand assembled according to the guidelines described above.

2. Remove the pedal (9), unscrew the hex bolt (8) completely, loosen the small black hex screw inside the stand base and take the pole out of the base. Remove the spring too.

3. At the bottom end of the stand pole (the one where the hex bolt (8) comes in) mark the line of the future cut. Say, you need to make the stand 10 cm shorter (lower).

4. To cut the piece of steel tube off use a classic handsaw, electric cutter or specialized pipe cutter. Either option will work perfectly well, but please make sure to take appropriate safety measures during the process or ask a professional for assistance.

5. Cut the marked piece of pole off.

6.  Assemble the stand. Skip Step 5 of the original manual. Fix the pole inside the stand base with small black screw only (do not overtighten).
